First VU' WORKSHOPS

On the occasion of her first exhibition at la Galerie VU’, Not Only Rare Birds Sing from February 4th to March 19th, Vanessa Winship inaugurates VU' WORKSHOPS.This workshop will be focused on the theme of portraiture. Shooting, editing and lectures will alternate during the entire workshop that will be held at Hotel Paul Delaroche in Paris, the new VU’ headquarters for the lectures and in other locations for the shootings.
In her own words : «I try to give people the space and structure to present themselves, but what really makes the portrait for me is almost impossible to predict, something that sits between self awareness and vulnerability and yet also quietly insistent.»
Vanessa Winship lives in London. After studying cinema and photography at Westminster University (Polytechnic of Central London), Vanessa shares her time between photography and teaching. She then fully devotes herself to photography and lives for about 10 years in the Balkans and Turkey. She joins l’Agence VU’ in 2005,and la Galerie VU’ in 2009. Laureate of numerous prizes, including the World Press Photo (Amsterdam) twice, the National Portrait Gallery Prize (London), PhotoEspana Descubrimientos (Madrid), she exhibited her works in numerous museums and festivals such as the Kunstall Museum of Contemporary Art in Rotterdam or the Horst Gallery and Photographers Gallery in London, the Rencontres d’Arles...
